Happy Canada Day!
Today is Canada’s 149th birthday!
The day started off quite drizzly, with low hanging clouds and a rather subdued group of tourists hanging our the dock, waiting for their whale watching tour.
I had a relaxed morning, reading in the floathome. I thought that the bobbing feeling might annoy me, or even make me feel a bit nauseous, but it’s an incredibly gentle bob, and it’s more of an up and down feeling and less of a side to side sway.
The rain cleared up by lunchtime, and I took the opportunity to explore the docks a bit more. I love all the little businesses that sit at the one end of the dock. There are plenty of sea creatures who made their home in the tidepools by the shore, and opportunistic seals, and seagulls are common at Fisherman’s Wharf.
We went for dinner at a sweet little Italian place called Il Cavo, and I had a delicious seafood pasta. Then we came back to the floathome to watch the Canada Day fireworks! The top deck of the floating home is a fantastic place to watch fireworks from!
Happy Birthday fair country of mine!
